Urban Outings Highlight Bay Area's Best Communities
In May, Greenbelt Alliance will complete its 43rd Urban Outing highlighting the wonders of vibrant communities in the Bay Area. These fun and educational walking tours showcase community smart growth successes and how they came to pass.

Greenbelt Alliance Earns Highest Rating
Greenbelt Alliance earned four stars, the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities.

Greenbelt Alliance Origins: Early Success Stories
2003 marks the forty-fifth anniversary of Greenbelt Alliance's work to protect open space and promote livable communities. Throughout this year we will highlight our history in the Newswire. This month we examine Greenbelt Alliance's early success in protecting coastal lands.

16,500 Acres of Wetlands Protected
If you have ever flown into San Francisco International airport, you may be familiar with the red and orange squares that dot the shore from Redwood City to San Jose. The colorful patches are filled with algae and bacteria, which give them the multicolored hues. Now, much of these saltponds will be permanently protected.

Special Invitation: Join Go Greenbelt!
Join us on an unforgettable week-long bicycle tour through the Bay Area's greenbelt from April 27th to May 3rd. Raise funds to protect open space, and then ride through what you've worked to protect --
