Greenbelt close to home

The Greenbelt Alliance crowns its summer season of outings with a guided jaunt over the Golden Gate Bridge. Find out about the grand vision of preserving open space around the Bay Area on this walk with naturalists, 10 a.m.-6:45 p.m. Monday. After walking through San Francisco, you'll cross the bridge, then tromp through the Marin Headlands. The scheduled return to San Francisco is via ferry. The walk is considered challenging, 11 miles, but has less than 2,000 feet of elevation gain. The views should be fabulous. Reservations, information: (415) 255-3233, www.greenbelt.org.
