Greenbelt to discuss transit development

Subheading

Kerry Benefield

Greenbelt Alliance will lead a tour and discussion of proposed
transit-oriented development in Santa Rosa's Railroad Square on Saturday
morning.

The group will meet at 10 a.m. at Chop's Teen Center, 509 Adams St., for a
discussion and slide show before moving on to a walking tour of Railroad
Square.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit plans to build a 5.5-acre development
including high-density housing, restaurants and a food and wine center on
the west side of Railroad Square.

Voters in both Sonoma and Marin counties will vote Nov. 7 on a tax to help
pay for rail service between Cloverdale and Larkspur with a stop in
Railroad Square.

Respond to Marla Wilson at (415)543-6771 or mwilson@greenbelt.org.

The event is sponsored by Greenbelt Alliance, Accountable Development
Coalition and Conservation Action Fund for Education.
