Greenbelt Alliance presents Grow Smart Bay Area in Marin County

Panelists to discuss a greener future for Marin County

With more than half of its forests, shorelines and hillsides permanently protected, Marin County is a national leader in open space conservation. Yet, at 62%, the county is also the regional leader in transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions.

Join Dr. Thomas Peters of the Marin Community Foundation and Greenbelt Alliance on September 23 to hear Executive Director Jeremy Madsen present Grow Smart Bay Area, our vision to protect the region's open spaces and cities.

The presentation will be followed by a lively conversation about the best way to ensure Marin's economic vitality and a sustainable future.

State Senator Mark Leno will deliver the keynote address.

The panel participants are:

Richard Marcantonio, Managing Attorney, Public Advocates
Robert Pendoley, former Planning Director, Town of Corte Madera
Michele Rodriguez AIPC, LEED AP, Bevilacqua Knight, Inc.
Dianne Spaulding, Executive Director, Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California
Brad Breithaupt
, Editorial Page Editor, Marin Independent Journal (moderator)
