Endorsed Developments
Greenbelt
Alliance is dedicated to protecting open space and making our communities
better places to live for people of all income levels. Through our
Compact Development Endorsement Program, we work to support higher density
infill
projects, located near existing services and public transit, in existing
urban areas. The Compact Development Team endorses
and supports residential, mixed-use and commercial development that are
pedestrian-oriented and transit accessible, use land efficiently, and
provide homes people can afford.
Since the early 1990s, the Compact Development Team has endorsed
the creation of more than 60,000 homes around the Bay Area.
As of Sept. 2011, the Compact Development Endorsement Program is on hiatus. Contact Sustainable Development Associate Marla Wilson for more information. |
